Joint press statement on the outcomes of the special meeting of the Thailand-Cambodia Regional Border Committee (RBC) regarding the removal of heavy weapons

On 31 October 2025, the Ministry of National Defence issued a press release on the results of the Special Meeting of the Thailand-Cambodia Regional Border Committee (RBC). The meeting addressed the removal of heavy and destructive weapons between the 4th Military Region of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the 2nd Army Area of the Kingdom of Thailand. The meeting was observed by members of the ASEAN Observer Teams (AOT) in Thailand and Cambodia.

This meeting was convened in line with the outcomes of the 2nd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) and the principles outlined in the recent Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration. To implement these outcomes through a phased removal of heavy weapons and coordinate confidence-building measures designed to enhance mutual trust and stability along the Cambodia-Thailand border, the two sides agreed on 10 key points.
